Roles & responsibilities:

• Provide specialist services;
• perform endoscopic procedures;
• oversee the operation and business of the centre;
• lead the centre in service delivery and development;
• supervise and train the staff including their continuous professional development;
• ensure the centre's clinical activities comply to the regulations of Hong Kong and the professional guidelines;
• implement quality assurance programmes;
• manage risk control in service operation;
• promote centre's services and deliver health education to the public;
• initiate and participate in evidenced-based practice and research;
• undergo continuing medical education and professional development; and
• perform any duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

• a qualification registrable in Hong Kong under the Medical Registration Ordinance;
• fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Medicine) (FHKAM) or equivalent;
• registered in the Specialist Register in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the Medical Council of Hong Kong; and
• at least 3 years' clinical working experiences in endoscopy after obtaining specialist qualification in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Compensation & employment terms:
The successful candidate will be appointed on contract terms with a salary currently at $127,700 per month (Tung Wah Master Pay Scale Point 45) plus a monthly allowance currently at $30,852, responsibility allowance at $3,000 and non-uncountable cash allowance.  Entry salary and monthly allowance depend on years of recognized experience.  The salary and allowance are subject to downward/upward adjustment or may be frozen as determined by Tung Wah and/or as appropriate with reference to the civil service pay review.  The fringe benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships.  A 15% contract discretionary payment (to be offset by the total amount of contributions made by Tung Wah under the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme) will be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract period.
