Position : Assistant Clerk of Works
Rank : Assistant Building Services Inspector
Cluster / Department : Hong Kong East Cluster / Facilities Management Department
Pay : HK$30,244 to HK$55,233 (HGPS point 11 to 23) per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible for the following main duties:
1. Assist Clerk of Works in carrying out periodic building inspection for early identification and rectification of defects in existing public hospitals and institutions.
2. Assist Clerk of Works in monitoring the progress of inspection.
3. Carry out building inspection according to the inspection schedule.
4. Co-ordinate with end-users for arrangement of repair works.
5. Manage / conduct daily patrol in common areas and work places to identify defects / signs of defects.
6. Follow up the reported defects, arrange and supervise repair works to ensure quality and timely delivery.
7. Work according to duty roster and attend emergency calls after office hours as requested.
8. Perform other related duties as required and assigned by supervisor(s).
Entry Requirements
1. A Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Studies from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College / Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education; or equivalent.
2. (a) Grade E or above in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE
OR
(b) Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSE, or equivalent.
3. At least 3 years of relevant experience such as building projects after attaining the required academic qualification.
4. Obtained valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card).
Preferred Attributes / Exposure
1. Formal training in occupational safety and health.
2. Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
3. Responsible, self-motivated and able to work independently.
4. Outgoing and able to work under pressure and stressful situation.
5. Knowledge of other common automation (e.g. e-mail, Internet / Intranet, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, AutoCAD and other MS Office applications, etc.).
6. Practical experience in carrying out building inspection and management of maintenance/repair works.
