These activities offered international guests a glimpse into Taizhou's rich cultural heritage and the vitality of its pharmaceutical industry, which has earned the city recognition as the "Pharmaceutical Capital of China." Founded in 1956 in Taizhou, Hisun Pharmaceutical was a pioneer in bringing Chinese pharmaceuticals to international markets. In 1992, its tobramycin received U.S. FDA approval.
