HONG KONG, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Eddid Financial has renewed its support for a further two years of the Oxford Saïd-Eddid Financial Scholarship for Women in Finance, that champions talented women at the start of their careers in finance.
Launched in the 2025–26 academic year, the scholarship supports exceptional candidates on Oxford's MSc in Financial Economics, a highly competitive nine-month graduate degree offered jointly by the Department of Economics and Saïd Business School.
The renewed funding will enable future scholars to benefit from Oxford's rigorous training in economics and finance, while developing the analytical skills, financial insight, professional confidence and networks needed for careers across finance, business, and policy.
Professor Johannes Abeler, Head of the Department of Economics, said:
"We are delighted that Eddid Financial has renewed its commitment to the Oxford Saïd-Eddid Financial Scholarship for Women in Finance. Supporting talented women at this stage of their academic and professional journey is not only about widening access, but about strengthening the future of financial leadership. This scholarship enables outstanding students to benefit from Oxford's world-leading teaching and research, while helping to ensure that the next generation of decision-makers in finance reflects a richer diversity of talent, experience and perspective."
Dr Jerry Tse, Chief Executive Officer of Eddid Financial, commented:
"At Eddid Financial, we believe that the future of finance depends on innovation, trust and the development of exceptional talent. This scholarship reflects those values by supporting outstanding women as they pursue advanced study in financial economics and prepare for ambitious careers in the sector. We are proud to extend our support for a further two years and to continue working with the University of Oxford to widen opportunity for the next generation of financial leaders."
The inaugural scholarship was awarded to Amelia Hund, who joined the MSc in Financial Economics in the 2025-26 academic year following a highly competitive selection process.
"The Oxford Saïd-Eddid Financial Scholarship for Women in Finance has been an invaluable source of support throughout my studies. Beyond easing some of the financial pressure, it has allowed me to focus more fully on my academic and professional development and to make the most of my time at Oxford Saïd. As I said at the beginning of the year, receiving the scholarship felt like a recognition of my achievements so far and a sign of trust in what I can accomplish ahead. That trust has been incredibly rewarding and motivating, giving me an even stronger sense of responsibility to keep striving for excellence. I am deeply grateful to Eddid Financial for their continued commitment to supporting women in finance, as funding opportunities like this can make studying at Oxford more accessible, help talented women choose this path with confidence, and open doors to meaningful careers."
The extension of the scholarship reinforces the Department's commitment to widening access to graduate study and supporting the next generation of economists and financial leaders.
