XIAMEN, China, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Curated by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in collaboration with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and jointly with the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), the Italy National Pavilion officially opened at 12:00 on September 8 during the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen. Official representatives from China and Italy attended the opening ribbon-cutting ceremony. Under the theme "Italy: A Land of Opportunities", Italy showcased its investment value and cooperation potential to the Chinese market at this edition of CIFIT.

As the world's eighth-largest economy and the EU's second-biggest manufacturing nation, Italy offers mature FDI support policies and robust industrial bases. At CIFIT, multiple Italian authorities showcased Italy as a key European investment hub for Chinese firms, introducing full-cycle one-stop government services, local investment rules, incentives, business climate and premium opportunities.

Focusing on automotive, aerospace, green supply chains, circular economy and life sciences, the booth presented free-trade zone industrial policies and incentives, alongside a curated list of high-quality Italian real estate projects. Investment guides covering procedures, project proposals and benefits were available on site.

Throughout CIFIT, the professional investment teams composed of senior officers from the Technical Secretariat of the Committee for the Attraction of Foreign Investment (STCAIE) and the Special Unit for Attracting and Unblocking Investments (UMASI) under the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, China-based representatives of the Invest in Italy initiative (including the FDI Desk Beijing and FDI Desk Hong Kong of ITA), as well as expert teams from Invitalia, held multiple B2B meetings with interested Chinese enterprises, providing face-to-face one-stop investment advisory services.

A series of seminars were hosted within the pavilion. Among them, the special seminar titled "ITALIAN FDI ATTRACTION POLICIES AND OPPORTUNITIES" held on the afternoon of September 8 drew more than 200 audiences. Italian speakers shared insights on full-cycle supporting services for foreign investors in Italy and offered an in-depth interpretation of Italy's foreign direct investment support system.

Amedeo Teti, Director-General of STCAIE of MIMIT, gave a comprehensive overview of Italy's new framework for attracting foreign investment. Augusto Reggiani, Director of Italian Foreign Investments Attraction Unit – INVESTMENT SCREENING EXPERT GROUP in MIMIT, elaborated on tailored investment opening measures for investors. Giovanni Savini, Director of UMASI of MIMIT, outlined the unit's role in facilitating the implementation of major investment projects of national strategic significance. A Q&A session followed the seminar, enabling in-depth exchanges between participating enterprises and speakers.

Besides the flagship seminar, on September 9 two smaller investment promotion sessions were co-hosted by Invitalia and ITA's investment promotion division. The sessions covered foreign investment opportunities in automotive, aerospace, green supply chains, life sciences and circular economy, and illustrated Italy's unique competitive advantages as an EU manufacturing base.

Cultural experience activities will also be arranged at the pavilion, featuring tastings of Italian fine wine and Padano cheese. Italian coffee and Made in Italy ice cream will be served throughout the days, vividly presenting Italian lifestyle.

According to relevant officials of ITA, the participation achieved fruitful results. CIFIT served as an efficient platform where Chinese enterprises interested in investing in Italy obtained first-hand advice directly from Italian investment specialists, further strengthening their intention to invest in Italy. Italy attaches great importance to economic and trade ties with China and warmly welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in Italy. After the fair, ITA China-based offices and FDI Desk Beijing and FDI Desk Hong Kong of ITA will continue to provide investment advisory services for market entities considering Italy.
